Notes

The Singleton Railway Line NSW opened on 7 May 1863 and operated for some years as the first part of a main northern railway link from Newcastle to Queensland before the Hawkesbury River was bridged.

The music of The Singleton Railway Galop was composed by Marmduke H Wilson to commemorate the opening of the Great Northern Railway. The advertisement above was printed two days before the opening.
