The Traffic Manager
The Traffic Manager
From the Sunday Times [Perth] Sunday 19 April 1903
I'm Chief Traffic Manager Short,
An asset the Government bought,
When with wisdom divine
They took the South line
On your 'umble's impartial report.
From London I sailed long ago
To the land where they masticate crow,
Since when I have sprang
From the lowermost rung
To a salary very few know.
Railway management's rotten and loose,
And my work often goes to the deuce,
So to put matters right
I work day and night
In blocking the games of the Goose.
